Are you trolling or being sarcastic? Or do you work for Sony's R&D department?

First of all they haven't spent any money marketing it because it hasn't been released yet. Secondly, yes, it's Sony's money, they can spend it on whatever they want. Do you have any idea how much cash these companies are prepared to risk on R&D? That's why it's "research and developement" they already know that every idea won't be making a retu...

I never doubted it would be full games they'll allow users to share.

I hope they do find a way of allowing digital sharing, they really need a one-up on Sony. I just hope they think it through properly. Wouldn't want people to blame the collapse of the console business on digital sharing now would we?

@ matgrowcott

Holy crap, presumptuous much? Where do gamers get this idea that it'll take 6 months to disable sharing? Seriosouly...sure, the time they've spent writing the authentication code will be lost, but I don't see how disabling it will cause an army of coders to loose sleep for 6 months.

At any rate, Microsoft have done the math and decided that whatever it will cost them to remove the authentication code will be worth it.

Very well said. The whole "shared library" benefit is just another speculative scenerio IMO. They didn't even announce it until the first wave of complaints came in. I think such a sharing system would've impacted first-hand sales, and I bet one of the reasons Microsoft reversed their decision was because they realised the shared game library would be unfeasible. Just like Sony reduced their digital sharing plan on the PS3 from being able to install a game in 5 consoles ...

I honestly don't know if you can pin most of the credit on the Sony fans. There seemed to be quite a lot of Xbox fans that were pissed of about the DRM policies and were very vocal about it (maybe not on N4G, but on other websites). It was the Xbox fans that defected to Sony that caused PS4 pre-orders to sky-rocket, remember that.

Yes, they tried to justify it but they're not right now. And I highly doubt Microsoft will back track AGAIN and add DRM onto the Xbox One...

and why do you think Sony decided not to go for used games restrictions in the PS4? Because they didn't want to fail either, and they knew winning over the customers is the best way not to fail.

At the end of the day, I didn't want to support Microsoft because of the restrictions on sharing and zero ownership of games. Now I CAN support them because they ARE putting customers first (even if they're only doing it for money, which is no different from Sony), so I&...

A monumental day for gamers, consumers and humanity. Big for all the people that shouted and made their voices heard!

And thank you Microsoft for listening to your many fans and supporters and taking action. I'm sure this decision will best for everyone!

It's a shame the shared library will likely be gone, it would've been a cool feature no doubt, but for me personally, it wasn't enough to compensate for no used games, 24 hour check ins and ...

I was actually thinking about this today. Good to hear. I can't think of any other open world game that has destructable environments (minus red-faction gorilla, but I'm talking about the city based ones.)

For Christ's sake, I wish people would stop going on about "gamers are afraid of change", "they're paranoid", "it's going to happen anyway" blah, blah, blah...

Minority or majority, a certain demographic of gamers don't like Microsoft's "features", they were vocal about it, and have decided not to buy the console. Simple as. I don't care how many idiots buy the Xbox One, I won't because I have no interest i...

I've always liked FFs art but never played one because I HATE turn based combat..select move, play animation, watch my ass get wooped, select move, win battle...que victory animation with crappy music.

I'm an action RPG fan, so this get's my attenetion. Not only that, but it simply looks stunning: the graphics, the moves, everything! Will it have a proper combat system or mindless button mashing? We'll have to wait and see.

I can totally un...

I really like the design. And think it's up there with the original 360 design and the Dreamcast, which are my favourite console designs.

In all honesty though, it's published by EA...there's no way it won't come out on PS4 at some point.

This was probably the best bit out of the actual presentation segments, it was the first time I realised there was actually human beings there.
